According to the Law on Supporting Research and Development Activities numbered 5746; Borsa Ä°stanbul applied to the Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Development on March 4, 2016, in order to be registered as a Research & Development (R&D) Center.
Our R&D Center application was concluded at the resolution meeting held by the Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology on May 6, 2016 and BISTECH Research & Development Center was officially approved.
R&D Centers and Incentives
Research & Development Centers are defined as units, which are organized as separate departments within the overall organization, exclusively conducting domestic research and development activities, employing R&D personnel equivalent to at least 30 full time employees , possessing sufficient R&D background and competency, and being located inside the main institution’s own building or campus.â
R&D Centers qualify for various tax exemptions and incentives by the Turkish Ministry of Finance, due to the ongoing projects and the personnel assigned for these projects.
BISTECH Research & Development Center
According to the application that was approved by the Turkish Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology on May 6, 2016; the operation of BISTECH Research & Development Center, which employs more than 100 personnel, executes 29 R&D projects, and lies on an area of 1400 square meters within the premises of Borsa Ä°stanbul, was officially registered.
With the help of BISTECH R&D Center, Borsa Ä°stanbul shall develop academic collaborations consistent with the scopes of the projects and shall periodically file applications to national fund programs in regard of the projects with an R&D attribution.
The aim of the BISTECH Research & Development Center is to provide extensive solutions to the problems of the sector by producing innovative and high-tech products in the fields of finance and software technology, to commercialize these solutions and to present opportunities in order to maintain the employment of the qualified human resources.
