Contego, the multi-source fraud detection platform, today announced that it has been selected to be part of the government’s G Cloud 8 Framework, a procurement platform that pairs cloud-based service providers with public sector organisations. Contego has joined a list of accredited suppliers under the Software as a Service (SaaS) category.
Contego currently helps banks, Fintech and property firms to reduce the risk of fraud and improve and automate compliance, Anti-money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) checks and processes.
As a government accredited supplier, Contego will be able to help local and government services to carry out complex identity verification checks on people and companies, expediting and improving processes. Furthermore, Contego’s single risk scoring platform can handle complex, multi-source fraud detection and checks in real-time, all delivered via a single API.
Prior to the G Cloud 8 Framework being introduced, government departments had to go through a painstaking and time-consuming process to find the right cloud suppliers, rigorously checking that each one was fit for purpose.
In response to government services shifting online and become increasingly reliant upon cloud-based solutions, the G Cloud 8 Framework was created to enable the public sector to seek guidance on cloud solutions, find accredited suppliers quickly and create simpler, clearer contracts for ‘the digital age’. The web-based platform offers a more efficient way for cloud suppliers and government departments to work together.
To achieve the G Cloud 8 Framework accreditation, Contego undertook a thorough analysis and review of all their technical processes, submitting detailed company and technical information including Contego’s certification to the ISO 27001:2013 information security standard. Contego is committed to meeting the highest standards of security; Contego also recently achieved the Cyber Essentials PLUS certification, a government backed, industry supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against cyber attacks. A customisable solution, the Contego platform can adapt to the latest industry changes, from regulation to technological advancements.
Adrian Black, CEO, Contego, said: “We are really pleased to have achieved the G Cloud 8 Framework accreditation. We are very keen to help government departments fight fraud and enhance their processes around automated identity verification. We are already working on projects to improve processes by carrying out real-time ID verification, accelerating approval and referral decisions whilst optimising the customer journey through online application forms.
Building on our extensive work within the property sector, we see immediate potential in streamlining housing department processes and reducing fraud in relation to housing benefit. This will not only accelerate the application process but reduce fraudulent claims.”
